According to the Global Language Monitor there were 1,013,913 words in the English language as of January 2012. In spite of that, I can't tell you how many times recently I've felt constrained by words. All of those words do not guarantee that I will be able to make people understand what I am thinking or feeling even with the help of non-verbal communication.
One thing I had trouble explaining to people this week is "brain tired." It's the kind of tired I felt after taking my second final test (having studied 4-5 hours for each), and knowing that I needed to study more for the mid term the following day. It isn't a physical tiredness. It is felt when the brain is just too full of information to take in any more. Some people acted as if they knew what I was talking about, but the types of remedies they suggested showed me that they were not completely understanding the feeling. :) But, I think a few other students around here who were enrolled in three graduate classes last session would understand. God gave me a lot of grace for this week. I'm relieved it is over, and at the same time, that feeling of accomplishment now that I finished it made it worth the while.
